The CCA Patriots are 3-2 after defeating the John Hancock Academy Rebels 35-6 in Sparta on Friday night. Just like in last week’s win over Holy Spirit Prep, the Patriots scored all of their points in the first half.

Tyson Crosby scored two touchdowns – one on a 20-yard run and the other on a 38-yard reception. Luke Russ caught a 25-yard touchdown pass and Dalton Rogers scored on a 13-yard run. Quarterback Sam Ables threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another score (44 yards). Ables also threw for 119 yards in the first half.

In the second half, the Patriots had a hard time moving the ball while the Rebels built a little momentum. They capitalized on a few CCA mistakes and were able to get in the end zone for their only score of the game.

The Patriots travel to Pinehurst next week for a 7 p.m. showdown with Fullington Academy.
