Do you want to help make a difference in the city of Douglas?  The City of Douglas is searching for motivated individuals who want to make a difference in the community to serve on the Keep Douglas Beautiful Board and the Airport Commission.

The City of Douglas is looking for two (2) volunteers for the Keep Douglas Beautiful Board (KDB). KDB, an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, aims to promote environmental sustainability and educate the community to act every day. The mission of the board includes increasing safety, reducing litter in open spaces and waterways, improving recycling efforts, and maintaining the beauty of Douglas. The KDB executive board consists of 8 members: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Non-voting ex officio members include the Community Development Director, Code Enforcement Supervisor, and Public Information Manager. The City of Douglas Grants Administrator serves as the Executive Director.

The City of Douglas is seeking (2) people to fill vacancies on the Airport Commission. The Airport Commission acts as an advisory commission to the City Commission for recommendations regarding the safe operation and maintenance of the Douglas Municipal-Gene Chambers Airport.  It consists of ten members, nine members who have aviation knowledge and/or an aviation background, and one elected City Commissioner whom the Mayor and City Commission appoints.  The volunteer should be interested in aviation and live in the city limits of Douglas.

For all qualifications of each committee or to obtain a volunteer application, please go to the city website www.cityofdouglasga.gov/volunteer, download a form, or stop by the City Clerk’s Office located at City Hall, 302 S. Madison Avenue, or email Wynetta Bolder at wbolder@cityofdouglasga.gov.  All volunteer applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.  For more information, please call Alyssa or Destiny at 912-383-0277.
