Vince Edwin Cothren, age 61, of Nicholls, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025, following an extended illness. Mr. Cothren was born on July 20, 1964, in Douglas, Georgia, to his late parents, Aaron “Buddy” Cothren, Jr. and Jerris Mills Mattox.

Vince was a retired truck driver who enjoyed spending time on the river and had a deep love for racing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cothren was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Aaron and Pearlie Cothren and his maternal grandparents, Rhozier and Iris “Sug” Mills, whom he loved dearly.

He is survived by his two children: Aaron Cothren, Sr. (Allie) of Lewiston, Idaho, along with their two children, Aaron Cothren, Jr. and Avery Cothren; and Lindsay Minis of Claxton, Georgia, and her three children, Hayden Morris, Easton Minis, and Allie Minis. Mr. Cothren is also survived by many cousins and friends, including his special cousin, friend and caregiver, Shane Pridgen, and special aunt, Betty Pridgen.

Pallbearers will include: Shane Pridgen, Russell Mills, Kevin Carter, Sandro Garcia, Josh McClelland and Craig Harrell.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 19th, 2025, from 3:00PM until 4:00PM, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 19th, 2025, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, Georgia, at 4:00 PM, with Rev. Willie Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Roberts Cemetery in Nicholls, Georgia.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests all donations be made to the Childhood Cancer Awareness Group of Coffee County.

Sims Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
