Two subjects, one male and one female, have been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after they allegedly beat a man with their fists and a shovel in the Oak Park community.
According to a report from the sheriff’s office, on September 9, 2025, at around 2:40 p.m., a deputy responded to Coffee Regional Medical Center in reference to an assault. The victim and witnesses at the hospital said that the victim was at a Sand Street address when two individuals – Emmanuel Dishon Green and Courtney Leanne Green, both 31 of Douglas – entered the home and started beating him. They said he owed them money. The victim stated that he attempted to run out of the home to another nearby residence. He said that Courtney and Emmanuel kept beating him. Courtney grabbed a square-headed shovel and started hitting him with it, the report says. Emmanuel was hitting him with his fists, according to the report.
Officers went to the location of the alleged assault and spoke to witnesses who corroborated the victim’s story. They also found the shovel allegedly used in the incident.
Officers were unable to located Emmanuel and Courtney. However, they believed they were driving a blue 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
A few hours after officers responded to CRMC, Courtney was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
Emmanuel avoided capture until September 13, 2025. Just after midnight that morning, a Douglas police officer stopped the blue Silverado on Perimeter Road for a taillight violation. Joshua Terrell, 36, of Douglas, was driving the vehicle, according to a Douglas Police Department incident report. Emmanuel was a passenger. During the stop, Emmanuel turned himself in to police and was transported to the Coffee County Jail on a probation violation and aggravated assault charges. Terrell was given a warning for the taillight violation.
Courtney has been released from custody but Emmanuel remains in the Coffee County Jail.
