Man of God Frederick D. Chapple, Sr., age 88, of Douglas, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday evening, October, 5, 2025 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a recent illness.

Bro. Fred entered the world on February 13, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland.  He was the son of the late Joseph Chapple and the late Bertina Stanley Chapple.  He was a loving husband, devoted father, and a faithful man of God.  He made his career in the field of medical research at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland.  He earned a degree in Biblical Studies and combined that with his love for people and his love for Jesus to become a teacher pastor and an International Missionary, serving four and a half years in Panama and Central America.  He was a meek, humble and loyal man that showed his family how to love others.  Bro. Fred had a strong desire to be treated as a plant, not as a flower, because flowers will fade and die, but plants live.

Bro. Fred leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Barbara Anne Sutton Chapple; 6 children: Anthony “Tony” Douglas Chapple and wife, Darlene, of North Carolina, Frederick Douglas Chapple, Jr. and wife, Tracey, of Baltimore, Maryland, Kevin Leslie Chapple of Washington D.C., Valerie Lois Chapple of Jacksonville, Florida, Clarence Eric Leverette, Jr. of New Mexico, and Bridgette Arnette Leverette of Douglas, Georgia; 8 siblings: Joseph Chapple, Jr. and wife, Astrola, Doris Fed, Bertina Wyatt, Rudolph Chapple and wife, Monica, Jerry Chapple and wife, Rosa, Phyllis Crippens, Delores Scott and husband, Joseph, and Donald Chapple; along with a host of grandchildren, great grand children, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Along with his parents, Bro. Fred was greeted in Heaven by his son, Andre Chapple and his sister, Alice Terry.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held for Bro. Fred on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Harvest Time Church of God in Douglas, Georgia with Bishop Glenn Fussell and Rev. Tim Mock officiating.

Condolences, kind words, and fond memories may be shared with Bro. Fred’s family at www.ricketsonfuneralhome.com.

Bro. Fred’s arrangements have been entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc. of Douglas, Georgia.
