On October 30, 2025, deputies with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an alleged traffic violation at the intersection of Maple Street and First Avenue in Douglas. Officers identified the driver as Jesse Music, 42, of Douglas.
During the course of the stop, deputies observed behavior indicative of criminal activity. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, resulting in the discovery of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and three firearms inside the vehicle.
As a result, Music was arrested and transported to the Coffee County Jail without incident, where he was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
In December of last year, Music was arrested at Flat Tub in Jeff Davis County in connection with several camper burglaries that had taken place in the area. During that investigation, officers discovered several guns and suspected illegal drugs. Music was arrested and charged with theft by taking (three misdemeanor counts), felony theft by taking, burglary 1st degree, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a drug-related item, criminal trespass (three counts), expired tag, and knowingly driving a vehicle with no registration.
Music was booked into the Jeff Davis County jail on the above charges and later bonded out.
