Friday night, an Ambrose woman who was charged with hit and run/leaving the scene of an accident a month ago was charged with DUI, hit and run/leaving the scene of an accident, and several other traffic violations after she allegedly struck another vehicle and fled.
According to an accident report from the Georgia State Patrol, a trooper responded to a crash around 10:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025. The driver of vehicle one, identified as Erin Micalah Slusher, 26, of Ambrose, was driving a white 2004 Dodge pickup south on Georgia Highway 206. Vehicle two, a white 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, was traveling south on 206. The report says that Slusher failed to yield to the Tahoe and made a lefthand turn on to the 206 Connector. The Tahoe went left to avoid the crash but could not avoid the accident. The two vehicles collided then Slusher fled the scene.
A short time later, officers located Slusher and took her into custody. She was charged with hit and run/leaving the scene of an accident, DUI, failure to yield while turning left, driving with an expired license, and a taillight violation. She was booked into the Coffee County Jail and released on bond.
On November 4, 2025, Slusher was charged with hit and run/leaving the scene of an accident and obstruction after a silver Ford Edge she had been in was found in a ditch at Ambrose Road and MC Jowers Road at around 5 a.m. Slusher and Cammie Nugent, whose driver’s license was found in the vehicle, were located in a mobile home across the road from where the car had been found. Deputies determined that Nugent had been driving the vehicle. She was charged with hit and run/leaving the scene of an accident and failure to maintain lane. The incident report acknowledged that Nugent was in no condition to drive but she was not cited for DUI.
