Officials stated Monday that several repairs at railroad crossings will be ongoing projects for CSX within the city of Douglas.

“The City would like to ask all citizens to be patient with the repairs,” City Manager Terrell Jacobs stated in a press release.  “Also, we would like to remind citizens that this is a process that the city has no control over and we will update citizens as soon as we are updated by CSX.”

The paving crew will be returning to crossings at S. Daughtry Ave., S. College Ave., and S. Manilla Ave. to extend the asphalt outward and create a smaller grade for crossing vehicles. Crossings at S. Gaskin Ave., S. McDonald Ave., and S. Fale Ave. are temporary.  CSX has plans to bring up the side track to match the grade of the main line. This should take place within the next five months, officials said.
