Voters in NJCAA college basketball have placed the South Georgia State College Hawks into the latest Top 25 poll released Tuesday. SGSC (21-3, 8-2) has won 11 consecutive games and is ranked #22.

The Hawks won their first ten games of the season then lost three straight games, two of which were to conference opponents. Head coach Cory Baldwin praised his team’s performance following the three-game losing streak.

“I am proud of this team’s ability to not listen to others, fight through those three games, and return to the Top 25. That shows mental toughness,” he said.

In addition to their current winning streak, the Hawks are also 3-1 vs. Top 25 teams this season and are currently in second place in the GCAA behind Georgia Highlands. The Chargers are currently ranked #2 in the latest poll.

The Hawks travel to Atlanta Metro Feb. 10 before returning home Feb. 13 to play East Georgia State. Tip for the Feb. 13 game is set for 4 p.m

General admission to all regular season home games is five dollars with children five and under admitted free.
