Arlene Allen Cook, age 84, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Cook was born on February 24, 1932, in Telfair County, GA to the late Oscar Allen and Elizabeth Buchanan Allen.

Survivors include: her two daughters, Rose Mary (Van) Strickland of Douglas, GA and Elizabeth Ann Davis of Douglas, GA; three grandchildren, Joey (Tiffany) Strickland of Hazlehurst, GA, Lisa (Daren) Folsom of Douglas, GA and Jessica (John) Smith of Axson, GA; seven great grandchildren, Sarah Kate Hall, Kellylynn Hall, Kelton Hall, Donavan Folsom, Rayleigh Strickland, Kyla Smith and Ansleigh Smith; two brothers, Selmer Allen of McRae, GA and Edison Allen of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Olene Duchene of Tampa, FL and Josephine Wooten of Douglas, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Glen Cook; grandson, J.J. Vickers; and three brothers, Park Allen, Ed Allen and Oscar Allen.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 11, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Elder John Kennon and Bishop Ashley Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
