Coffee Alliance for the Arts, along with Georgia Council for the Arts, sponsored the 2016 Coffee High Arts Week the week of February 22-26 and March 1, 2016. Several Coffee High alumni who are involved with the arts in some way were invited to present to CHS students throughout the week.

Those who presented were Laiken Williams, Windi Raper, Andrea Taylor, Duke Guthrie, Dylan Ross, Pam Brigmond, Erin Palmer, Lee Mobley, Anna Braswell, Gray McKinnon, and Troy Moore. CHS Drama also performed “The Audition.” Close to 2,000 students were served during the week

In lieu of Arts Week, there were also two contests in which Coffee High students could participate—a logo contest and an essay contest relating to the theme “Follow Your Dreams.”

The winners of the logo contest were Rachael Anderson, Oscar Trevino, and Kerry Duckworth. Essay contest winners were Danielle Edens, Rachael Anderson, and Marilyn Harrell. These students, along with Coffee High art teacher Julie Lord, were recognized at the March board meeting.

A special thanks is given to the Coffee Alliance for the Arts Board members who helped with this year’s Arts Week: Anna Braswell, Jim Cottingham, Joann Danna, Dana Davenport, Mary Ann Dudley, Elaine Lord, Julie Lord, Betty Royal, Angie Scott, and Lisa Tierney.
