Leland Smith, age 84, of Douglas, GA passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Pruitt Health-Ocilla following an extended illness. Mr. Smith was born on August 9, 1931, in Douglas, GA to the late Oscar Smith and Mary Ann Wright Smith.
Survivors include: his wife, Pauline Smith of Douglas, GA; son Arthur C. (Deanne) Smith of Hazlehurst, GA; six grandchildren, Corey Smith, Leighann Thomas, Autumn Whittle, Jody Smith, Austin Smith and Andrea Hayward; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Smith; daughter, Carla Sue Faulk; sister, Rudine Danielson; and two brothers, Edward Smith and Herbert Smith.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Douglas City Cemetery with Dennis Josey officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery.
