Topping the list of Coffee County criminals who should probably find another line of work this week is a trio of would-be burglars who would’ve been a lot better off if they’d just stayed home.

Sheriff’s officials responded to a residence late last month on Amber Hills Rd. in the Oak Park community around 4:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a burglary in progress.

According to authorities, the homeowner observed three individuals in the act of breaking into his home and, when deputies arrived, the team was still present in the victim’s yard.

Following what was undoubtedly one of the quickest investigations in recent history, the blundering burglars were apprehended.

Sheriff’s officials identifed the unlucky thieves as 31-year-old Abby Gail Fernandez, 23-year-old Devonte Clark, and 23-year-old Emily Sellers, all of Coffee County.

All three suspects were transported to the Coffee County Jail and charged with burglary.
