First Academy has earned Full Accreditation with Quality from the Georgia Accrediting Commission for kindergarten through sixth grade.  W.T. Henry from the Georgia Accrediting Commission was very complementary of First Academy.  He noted that First Academy was a well-organized operation with a very qualified and capable staff in a great learning climate.  He stated, “I was very impressed with the school’s operation as well as their staff and administrative leadership.  The Board of Directors as well as the headmaster are most visionary concerning the future for their school.  Plans are to add a grade each year until they accommodate all grade levels.”

In addition, the Georgia Accrediting Commission accredited First Academy’s three-year-old and Pre-K programs.  Buddy Grimes was the visiting team member who worked with Mr. Henry in the accreditation process of the Pre-K and three-year-old program.  Mr. Grimes said, “It is obvious that the headmaster and the preschool director have worked diligently to formulate a most effective program.  They have satisfied all requirements that qualify them for accredited status.  The learning climate is conducive to the educational goals for this age student.”

School registration can be completed online at the school’s new website, www.firstacademydouglas.org.  You can also call 912-720-5961 for more information about First Academy.  Students can experience “A Day at First Academy” by families setting up an appointment through the school office.  Visitors are welcomed any weekday to witness First Academy’s strong values in Christian education.  The school is located at 124 Gaskin Avenue North in Douglas.
