Geraldine Kirkland, age 92, of Nicholls, Ga. passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017, at Shady Acres following an extended illness. Mrs. Kirkland was born on February 16 1925, in Douglas, Ga. to the late Warren Carter and Viola Kight Carter.
Survivors include: her sons: Danny (Nancy) Kirkland of Nicholls, Ga. and Nicky (Ann) Kirkland of Douglas, Ga.; daughters: Judy (Lavar) Whittington of Americus, Ga. and Cindy Lu (Albert Tanner, III) Tanner of Nicholls, Ga.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholls B. Kirkland, Sr.; son, Ricky Kirkland; several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Sims Funeral Home.
Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Sand Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
