First Academy will host its first annual Talent Showcase this Thursday, March 29th at 6:30 p.m. The event will take place in the First Baptist Church Sanctuary. First Academy is a ministry of First Baptist Church by educating the next generation in a biblical sound environment.

The name of the showcase is B.A.S.I.C., meaning Brothers and Sisters in Christ. The foundation of the event came from two First Academy teachers, Janet Pridgen and Leann Smith. Janet Pridgen said: “Throughout the event planning process, we wanted an event that would unify us all under one roof, glorifying and worshiping God while children displayed their God given talents.” First Academy’s School Director, Kimberly Lott, stated that “It is an event that no one wants to miss! We want these performances to touch lives by honoring God. We firmly believe in giving God all the glory for all we do at First Academy, and we are grateful to host this event for our community. We are also thankful for the donations that we’ve received so far from our locals; the support from our area is certainly a blessing.”

There are student’s performing from many different schools in the county. T-Shirt’s will also be on sale the night of the event and all proceeds will go to Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

The doors will open at 5:30 p.m with concessions opening at that time. Tickets are on sale now for just $5 each, with 4 and under getting in free. Tickets will also be sold at the door the evening of the event. If you have any questions pertaining the event or are interested in becoming a sponsor, contact the First Academy School office, at 912-720-5961.
