Stanley Lamar Meeks, age 61, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Meeks was born on December 18, 1956, the son of the late Spencer Lamar Meeks and Lois Waters Meeks.

He worked as a corrections officer with Phillps Correctional Institute and was veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Frank Meeks.

Survivors include: his wife, Thelma C. Meeks of Douglas, GA; son, Thomas Johnston “T.J.” Meeks of Douglas, GA; brother, Robert Meeks of Nicholls, GA; and nephew, Travis Meeks of Nicholls, GA.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. George Bennett and Rev. Louie Lupo officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Meeks Cemetery.
