Clara Alice Vickers, age 92, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Vickers was born on May 23, 1925, in Douglas, Georgia the daughter to the late Allen Washington Brigmond and Rhoda Batten Brigmond.

She was a homemaker and a member of Salem Holiness Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Archie Moorman “A.M. Doc” Vickers; son, Dwight Vickers; sisters: Rosie Sapp, Effie Sapp, Sally Cothern, Mary Purvis Lillian Glenn, and Vera Stevens; brothers: Lonnie Brigmond, E.J. Brigmond, Ira Brigmond, Lindsey Brigmond and Lawrence Brigmond.

Survivors include: son, Dan Vickers of Douglas, GA; daughter, Tina Justice and husband Mark of Ambrose, GA; grandchildren: Brent Vickers, Ryan Vickers, Kim Graham and Jennifer Leavens; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 11 a.m. from Salem Holiness Baptist Church where Rev. Tommy Green officiated. Interment followed in Douglas City Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
