Mrs. Clara Louise Bodine Benoist, age 87, of Douglas, GA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday afternoon, June 9, 2018. Mrs. Benoist, a native of Washington, New Jersey, was born May 6, 1931, to the late Robert A. Bodine and the late Laura Andrews Bodine.

Mrs. Benoist was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her husband of 70 years, David E. Benoist of Douglas, GA; children: David and Peggy Benoist of Corpus Christi, TX., Suzanne and Paul Goodman of Douglas, GA., Lisa and Tony Jaworowski of Douglas, GA; brothers: Robert Bodine of Hackettstown, NJ and Alfred Bodine of Merritt Island, FL.; sister, Thelma Boice of Seneca, SC.; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Tuesday morning, June 12, 2018, at 10 A.M. at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home where Dr. Shep Johnson officiated. The interment followed at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL where Dr. Shep Johnson conducted the committal service.

Active Pallbearers were: David Benoist, Paul Goodman, Tony Jaworoski, Jesse Garcia and Wesley Harper.

Special Musical Selections, “How Great Thou Art” and “Do You Know My Jesus” was presented by the Soloist, Gayland Collins, with Judy Foskey, at the Piano and “Amazing Grace” was rendered as a Congregational Hymn, led by Gayland Collins and Judy Foskey, at the Piano. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Judy Foskey.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
