Troy C. Prescott Sr., age 73, 0f Douglas, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Prescott was born on April 28, 1945, in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Emmett Prescott and Ella Mae Bazemore.

He was an inspector with Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation, attended Lone Hill Methodist Church and loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. Mr. Prescott was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters: Helen Davis, Maggie Spires, Inella Davis and Eva Mae Millington; and brothers: Lynnwood Prescott, Edward Prescott and Sammie Prescott.

Survivors include his wife: Charlene Deen Prescott of Douglas, GA; son, Troy C. Prescott Jr. and wife Darla of Colquitt, GA; step-son, Johnny Ellis of Douglas, GA; step-daughters: Jamie Ellis of Douglas, GA and Judy Lee of Douglas, GA; brothers: Ralph Prescott of Augusta, GA and Roy Prescott of Douglas, GA; sister, Sarah Prescott of South Carolina; grandchildren: Nicholas Prescott, Tyler Prescott ,Chandler Prescott and Lacy Prescott; three great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren: Tabb Davis, Ashley Davis, J.J. Ellis, Brandon Ellis, John David Lee, Katie Leon and Taylor Ellis.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 15, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Lone Hill United Methodist Church where Rev. Mary Ann Braswell officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Military honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
