Mr. Billy Cecil Kimbrell, age 77 of Fitzgerald, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 24, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Kimbrell was born March 7, 1941 to the late Joseph Benjamin Kimbrell and the late Alma Lee Barrentine Kimbrell. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father: Obide Morris Alexander and a sister, Gwennell Walsh.

Mr. Kimbrell was a lineman with Georgia Power for over 35 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and he attended New Corinth Calvary Holiness Church.

Survivors include wife Myrtle Ione Threatt Kimbrell of Fitzgerald; children James Wesley Kimbrell and his wife Wanda of Fitzgerald, David Wayne Kimbrell and his wife Stephanie of Tifton, Joel Stephen Kimbrell and his wife Christy of Fitzgerald, and Kelly Michelle Padgett and her husband Zack of McRae; brothers Jack Kimbrell of Fitzgerald, Carl Kimbrell of Pinetta, Fla., and James Henry Alexander of Richmond Hill; 11 grandchildren, Cara Kimbrell, Jake Kimbrell, Abby Padgett, Austin Kimbrell, Hannah Padgett, Claire Kimbrell, Tanner Padgett, Anna Kate Kimbrell, Josh Kimbrell, Jordan Kimbrell, and Madison Kimbrell; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be Saturday morning, October 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at New Corinth Calvary Holiness Church in Ben Hill County with Rev. Jody Silvers, Rev. Vernon Hughes and Rev. Joey Dean officiating. The interment will follow in New Corinth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, October 26, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
