Debbie Gillespie Lee, age 62, of Alma, passed away on January 23, 2019, at Glenvue Health and Rehab following a lengthy illness. 

She was born in Douglas to the late McKinley Gillespie and Imogene Gillespie Foley. She later moved to Alma and had resided there for most of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her many pets and horses, along with special friends. 

She leaves behind her sisters, Dawn (Robbie) Lee of Fernandina Beach, Fla. and Robyn (Joey) Knight of Douglas; step-mother, Carolyn Gillespie Adams of West Green; nieces, Morgan (Will) Leonard of Blountstown, Fla. and Leanne (Westin) Bryan of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Shawndra Knight Whiteacre (Mark and son Ethan) of Alma; nephews, Lance Knight (son, Jude Knight) of Douglas, Logan Knight (daughter, Bryleigh Knight) of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Jamie Knight (son, Seth Knight) of Alma, . 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to Douglas Coffee Co. Humane Society, 620 Iron Road, Douglas, GA 31535, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004 or online at www.jdrf.org/donate or FL Baptist Children’s Home, 1015 Sikes Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33815.
