Melba Waters, age 96, of Douglas, passed away on Sunday February 17, 2019 at The Landings of Douglas after an extended illness. Mrs. Waters was born on December 9, 1922 in Coffee County, the daughter of the late Oswald Vickers and Eva Mae Royal Vickers. She worked as a beautician and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Douglas.

 

Mrs. Waters was preceded in death by her husband, Fabian Waters.

 

Survivors include two nephews, Dennis Vickers (Staci) of Hawkinsville and Douglas Vickers (Vicki) of Statesboro; caregivers, Christy Lynn Medina, Amanda Gonzalez and Southern Care Hospice.

 

Graveside services will be held on Saturday February 23, 2019 at 2:00pm at New Hope Church Cemetery with Rev. Doralyn Paulk and George Carroll Paulk officiating.

 

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at The Landings of Douglas for all their care and love they showed Mrs. Waters.
