Effie Kirkland, age 90, of Alma, passed away Sunday May 19, 2019 at Bacon County Hospital. Mrs. Kirkland was born on May 6, 1929 in Bacon County the daughter of the late William “Tub” Tanner and Lula Tanner.

Effie worked as a seamstress and was a member of Wilsonville Church of God.

Survivors include a daughter, Ronda Ingram and husband Bill of Cairo; son, Carroll Music and wife Mary of Douglas; sister, Ethel Fry and husband Russell of Jasper, Fla.; grandchildren, Kathy Dailey of Nicholls and Ronnie Thompson and wife Kim of Cairo; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday May 22, 2019 at 11 am at Roberts Cemetery in Nicholls with Rev. Jimbo Steed officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10 am until 11 am prior to the graveside service at Sims Funeral Home.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
