Louise Cady Hursey, age 83, of Douglas, passed away on Thursday July 4, 2019 at Vista Park. Mrs. Hursey was born on December 9, 1935 in Coffee County, the daughter of the late Daniel Williard Cady and Beadie Mae Morgan Cady.

She was a homemaker and a member of Chatterton Holiness Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Hursey; two daughters, Melva Brown and Sherri Hursey; and a brother, David Cady.

Survivors include two daughters, Katherine Elaine Chaney (husband Gene) of Douglas and Lynn Hersey (husband Dody) of Douglas; two brothers, Randolph Cady of Tennessee and Daniel Cady of Axson; two sisters, Joann Meeks of West Green and Willie Mae Bolton of Douglas; six grandchildren, Peter Brown, Michael “Bull” Brown, Gina Burke, Shane Chaney, Cody Hersey and Kaylee Fuller; eleven great grandchildren, Sheala Brown, Laykin Brown, Maggie Brown, Mollie Brown, Chelsea Burke, Nathan Burke, Hannah Chaney, Levi Chaney, Brittany Harrell, Brayden Hersey and Karli Jo Hersey; one great great grandchild, Kayson Howell; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Saturday July 6, 2019 at 11 am at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rob Merritt officiating. Interment followed at Harrell Grove Church Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
