Unison holds ribbon cutting

On Wednesday, November 6, the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Unison Behavioral Health Men’s Group Home located at 211 North Street.

The celebration began with opening remarks and a welcome from Chamber Vice President, Lisa Hodge, followed with prayer by Pastor Doug Walker of First United Methodist Church of Douglas. Unison’s Director of Developmental Disability Services, Kevin Rodgers, complimented Coffee County for the cooperative spirit and tremendous support throughout the construction and completion of the new men’s home.  Unison CEO, Dr. Glyn Thomas, thanked the leadership and agencies of Coffee County who have been so supportive of all of Unison’s endeavors. City of Douglas City Manager, Charlie Davis, congratulated Unison’s team for another successful completion of a group home and thanked them for services they provide our community.

The group was blessed to have in attendance a founding member of Unison Board of Directors, Ms. Jerry Ray, mother of Ms. JoAnne Ray Lewis.  Ms. Lewis now carries on her mother’s legacy by serving on Unison’s Board of Directors currently.  Chief of Police, Shane Edmisten, also serves on Unison Board of Directors representing Coffee County. Unison Behavioral Health is the leading provider of mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disability services in Southeast Georgia, serving eight counties including Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, Charlton, Clinch, Coffee, Pierce, and Ware.
