Mr. Edison Crosby, age 66 of Willacoochee, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 29, 2019, at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Crosby was born May 27, 1953 to Dorothy Mae Jewell Crosby and the late Thomas A. Crosby. Other than his father, he was preceded in death by siblings Sue Ellen Crosby, Talmadge Crosby and Kyllis Crosby.

Mr. Crosby, a native of Coffee County, was retired from the Department of Transportation in the Maintenance Division. He was a veteran of the US Army having served his country during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include: His wife, Velda Buchanan Crosby of Willacoochee; children Shane McDuffie of Douglas, Ricky Barrett of Axson, Olivia White of Douglas, John Barrett of Broxton, and Erick Crosby of Douglas; brother Virgil Crosby of Navarre, Fla.; sisters Gretta Jowers of Douglas and Ava Crosby of Wray; grandchildren Cannon White and Brydon White, both of Douglas, Sarah Bryan of Broxton, Grace Barrett and Will Barrett, both of Axson, and Jonathan Barrett and Jacob Barrett, both of Broxton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The funeral service will be, Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Brother Jerry Waldron and Rev. Benji Capps officiating. The interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Atkinson County. Mr. Crosby will be placed in the church at noon to lie in state until the funeral hour.

The family will receive friends, Tuesday, December 31, 2019 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
