William Carroll Spivey, age 72, of Nicholls, passed away on Monday January, 20, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Spivey was born on May 2, 1947 in Douglas, the son of the late William Spivey and the late Gladys Harper Spivey.

Mr. Spivey was a local farmer and a member of Pineview Church of God in West Green.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sophia Spivey; two brothers, Lee Spivey and Thurman Spivey; and three sisters, Earnestine Dupree, Frances Harper and Ineva Harper.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Harper Spivey of Nicholls; daughter, Damita Spivey Davis (Brian) of Nicholls; son, Shanon Spivey (Allison) of Nicholls; four grandchildren, Haley Davis, Lila Spivey, Katie Davis and Ty Spivey; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 2:00pm at Pineview Church of God with Rev. Craig Jump, Rev. Gerald Gardner and Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Burkett Church Cemetery. Mr. Spivey will lay-in-state Thursday at the church from 1pm until time of service at 2pm.

Pallbearers will be Randy Altman, Stevie Altman, Thad Thomas, Koby McClelland, Chase Kirkland, Cody Kirkland, Vecente Lopez and Labrado Ramirez.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
