Ms. Georgia Gail Raper Johns, age 70 of Douglas, passed away Tuesday evening, January 21, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Ms. Johns was born June 6, 1949 to the late Robert Lee Raper and the late Ethel Stevens Raper. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Charlie Nicole Bryan.

 

Ms. Johns was a manager with Walmart Distribution Center in Douglas. She loved to travel, fish, cook and play Bingo. She was of the Baptist faith.

 

Survivors include: Daughters: Brenda Bryan and husband Frankie of Millwood, Denise Crosby and husband Raymond of Axson, and Cindy Lee and husband Jimmy of Blackshear; companion Melvin Young of Douglas; grandchildren Morgan Branch and husband Kyle of Lakeland, Cohen Crosby and wife Shelley of Willacoochee, Jonathan Crosby of Axson, Taylor Lee and Dalton Lee, both of Blackshear, Chad Young and wife Sarah of Nicholls, and Carter Young and Ellie Young, both of Douglas; great grandchild Ella Mae Crosby of Willacoochee; and several cousins and many friends.

 

The funeral service will be Saturday morning, January 25, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Jordon officiating. The interment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends Friday evening, January 24, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home.

 

Active pallbearers will be: Joseph Moore, Jesse Moore, Raymond Johns, Albert Watson, Justin Johns, Chad Young and Carter Young.

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
