Mr. Willie Jacob “Jake” Wright, age 82 of Douglas, passed away on January 29, 2020, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Wright was born September 27, 1937 to the late William C. “Bill” Wright and the late Rev. Ola Nipper Wright. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. McQueen Wright and a daughter, Debbie R. Robinson.
Mr. Wright was a native of Coffee County. He has worked as a carpenter with Coffee County Mill Works.
Survivors include: Son Bobby W. Wright of Millwood; brothers Gerald “Pud” Wright and Johnny Wright, both of Douglas; grandchildren Clayton Wright of Jacksonville, Fla.; April Wright of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Christopher Davis of Millwood, and Jeff Jones and wife Dawn of Douglas; step-grandchildren James Wendell Vickers of Pearson, Wanda Jones of Douglas, and Cristi Robinson of Atlanta; five great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The memorial service will be announced later.
