Ms. Katherine Knowles Barber, age 60 of Douglas, passed away Thursday morning, March 5, 2020 at Vista Park Health and Rehabilitation following an extended illness. She was born September 15, 1959 to the late Daniel Jefferson Knowles and the late Betty Ree Varnedore Knowles Arnold. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Emery Barber.
Ms. Knowles was a native of Bacon County. She was a homemaker but had been previously employed by Douglas Foods as a line worker. Ms. Knowles attended First Assembly of God.
Survivors include: Sisters Elaine Pafford, Janet Smith and Connie Arnold, all of
Ambrose; brothers Ashley Knowles of Douglas, Joe Knowles and wife Lee of Douglas, Larry Knowles and wife Jone of Fairmont, and Gerald Knowles of Fairmont; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The funeral service will be Sunday afternoon, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at First Assembly of God with Rev. Marshall Adcock officiating and Rev. Michael Harper presenting a eulogy. The interment will follow in Tanner Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, March 8, 2020 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God.
Ricketson Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
