Joy Dawn Dickson, age 47, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Dickson was born on July 20, 1972 in Coffee County, Georgia, the daughter of Ralph Putman and Leona Ruth Harrell Christian.

Joy worked as a shipping secretary with R.W. Griffin and was a member of Deberry Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leon and Maggie Harrell and Israel and Ludell Merritt Christian.

Survivors include her husband, Jack F. Dickson of Douglas, GA; son, Trever Jackie Dickson of Douglas, GA; parents, Ralph and Ruth Christian of Broxton, GA; two brothers, Walter S. Christian of Griffin, GA and Luke Christian (Nicole) of Milton, GA; nieces and nephews, Wade Christian, Jackson Christian, Logan Christian, Carter Christian, Powell Christian, Collette Christian, Emma Kate Dobbins, Cameron Dickson and Mason Dickson; three brothers-in-laws, John Dickson (Jami) of LaGrange, GA, Jamey Dickson of LaGrange, GA and Tim Dickson of LaGrange, GA; In-Laws, Marilyn and Jackie Dickson of LaGrange, GA; faithful dog, Scooter; several aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Due to the current coronavirus outbreak a private family visitation will be held with a graveside service planned for 2:00pm Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Reedy Branch Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy Cox officiating. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs and comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including social distancing.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
