Mr. Wesley Edward Thomas, 71, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 16, 2020. He was born on March 21, 1949 to the late Hillie Thomas and Jeanette Walker Thomas in Douglas.

Mr. Thomas worked most of his life serving others, always bringing a smile to everyone who was around him.

Mr. Thomas is survived by nieces Sandra Chaney (Danny) of Douglas, GA, Connie Burkett (Eddie) of Douglas, GA, Kathy Tanner (Bruce) of Denton, GA, Debra Williams (Lamar) of Douglas, GA, Peggy Wade (Derick) of Douglas, GA and Lavonda Dicus (Brian) of Scottbird, AL; nephews Darin Hutcheson of Fitzgerald, GA, Cory Yardberry (Beth) of Douglas, GA and Bobby Lamar Thomas (Sherry) of Douglas, GA.; Wesley Jr., who was like a son; close friend Billy Young, special friend, Cathy Coats; aunts Thema Norris of McRae, GA and Vicy McNab of Douglas, GA.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Lovie Ann Riggins, Mary Louie Thomas, Evelyn Hutcheson and Dorothy Yardberry; brothers Jimmy Thomas and Bobby Thomas; and nieces Margaret Merritt and Becky Anderson.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the Douglas City Cemetery at 4:00 PM.
