Dorothy M. Carelock, age 87, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Carelock was born on June 21, 1932 in Bacon County, Georgia the daughter of the late Ira Music and Eva Taylor Music. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar K. Carelock.
Mrs. Carelock was a homemaker and a member of Rocky Pond Baptist Church. She met her husband, Edgar K. Carelock, who was the love of her life, when she was nineteen years old. They spent over fifty years together that seemed to go by in the blink of an eye raising their children, travelling and just being together in their later years. She was a wonderful mother, wife and friend and will be missed greatly.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Rivero (Leo) of Douglas, GA and one son, Ken Carelock (Susan) of Jesup, GA; five grandchildren, Adrianna Rivero, Alexandra Rivero, Ken Carelock (Kelly), Donnie Carelock (Rebecca), Shelby Carelock; three great grandchildren.
Crypt-side services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 2:00pm at the Dixie Mausoleum, Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Lonnie Spikes and Rev. Larry Stone officiating.
Pallbearers will be Mike Jordan, Oscar Zubizarreta, Daniel Silva, Carroll Pridgen, Ronnie Purvis and E.C. Yarberry.
Due to the coronavirus, attendees are asked to comply with the guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including social distancing of six feet of separation.
