Mrs. Linda Faye Bowen Spivey, age 68 of Nicholls, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 2, 2020, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Spivey was born July 18, 1951 to the late Cleo Bowen and the late Nellie Guthrie Bowen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lessie May Bowen and a brother, Jimmy Carroll Bowen.

 

Mrs. Spivey, a native of Atkinson County, had been employed with Dollar General as a clerk. She loved all sorts of animals. She raised cats, dogs, chickens, pigeons and pigs.

 

Survivors include: Her husband, Ronnie Spivey of Nicholls; daughter Tammie Michelle Lacemby of Mexico; sister Marie Strickland of Douglas; nephew Jimmy C. Bowen of Albany; niece Tracie Morris of Cordelle; and a host of cousins and friends.

 

The graveside service and interment will be Friday afternoon, June 5, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Cumorah Cemetery with Rev. Walt DeLoach officiating.

 

A family visitation will be held on Thursday evening, June 4, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Ricketson Funeral Home.

 

Please note that due to restrictions of attendance and social distancing being placed on funeral homes concerning the containment of COVID-19, please observe their guidelines.

 

Active pallbearers for the service will be Jimmy Bowen, Morgan Bowen, Nicholas Bowen, Austin Avery and James Forsythe.

 

A musical selection “Amazing Grace” will be presented by Rev. Walt Deloach, followed by the releasing of pigeons that she raised.

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
