Robert ‘Bob’ Cation, 76

Robert “Bob” Cation, age 76, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, formerly of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020 at his residence in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Mr. Cation was born on February 7, 1944 in Coffee County, Georgia, the son of the late David Campbell Cation Sr. and Mary Ethel Hayes Cation.

 

Mr. Cation was a local grocery store owner, a founding member and Chairman of the Board of First National Bank of Coffee County and a member of First United Methodist Church in Douglas, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Cation.

 

Survivors include his wife, Wanda S. Cation of Fernandina Beach, FL; son, Robert Campbell Cation (Amanda Ray) of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Stephanie Cation Flagg (Steve) of Pasadena, CA; four grandchildren, Lillie Cation, Hayes Cation, Campbell Flagg and Hollen Flagg; two nephews, David Cation (Michelle) of Tampa, FL and Mike Cation (Connie) of Douglas, GA.

 

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 11:00am at Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Chris Calhoun officiating. Pallbearers will be Mallory Smith, Curtis Farrar, Will Ellis, Steve Flagg, Hayes Cation and Cam Cation. Honorary pallbearers will be First National Bank Board members Stephen Lewis, Milton Clements, Kirk Farrar, Norma Lynn Hand, Ralph Evans, Dale Morris, Bill Ellis, Larry Thomas, Bill Inman, Tony Simmons and Bill Brawner.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
