Barbara Kight Rish, age 72, of Broxton, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020, at Memorial Satilla Health. in Waycross, GA. Mrs. Rish was born on August 30, 1947, in Douglas to Edward  Kight and Mildred Ricketson  Kight.

 

Mrs. Rish was a member of the Broxton Baptist Church where she served as pianist.  She was also employed by SunTrust Bank and Douglas National Bank as a bank teller for many years.

 

Survivors include: Husband, Herbert Wayne Rish, Sr. of Broxton, GA; son, Wayne  Rish, Jr. of Broxton, GA; grandchildren Jordon Rish, Jessie Rish, Jase Rish, Dane Rish,and Joseph Rish; brother, Gerald Kight of Broxton, GA; sister, Joyce  Redd of Forsyth, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Barbara was  preceded in death by her father, Edward Kight; mother, Mildred Ricketson Kight; son, Jason Lee Rish; and brother, Ronnie Kight.

 

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 4:00PM at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. 

 

Active pallbearers are: Travis Kight, Brent Hatcher, Dickey Rish, Archie  Rish Jr., Derek Young, Jordon Rish.

 

Those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and wear a protective mask in accordance with the guidelines concerning the coronavirus.

 

 Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
