Ms. Betty Jean Corbitt Hursey, age 83 of Douglas, passed away early Friday morning, December 11, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Hursey was born August 3, 1937 to the late A.J. Corbitt and the late Estelle Merritt Corbitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Williams and a brother, Emory Corbitt.

Ms. Hursey, a native of Broxton, GA, was sewing machine operator with Streat’s Garment and Spectrum Apparel. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

Survivors include:

Son: Dewayne Hursey of West Green, GA

Brothers: Ken Corbitt of Broxton, GA
Rickey Corbitt of Lyons, GA

Sister: Linda Bush of Broxton, GA

Grandchildren: Jason Williams of West Green, GA
Chad Williams of Douglas, GA
Samantha Hursey of Charleston, SC

Great-grandchildren: Amelia Williams and Asher Williams both of Douglas, GA

Special friends: David and Barbara Hersey of Broxton, GA

Several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends

The graveside service and interment will be Sunday afternoon, December 13, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. at Providence Cemetery near Broxton with Rev. Donnie Kirkland officiating.

The family and guest will meet at the cemetery for the service.

Please note: Due to COVID-19 attendees are asked to observe six foot social distancing at the graveside service and interment. Please wear your mask for safety precautions and in accordance with CDC guidelines. We do not furnish masks.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
