Denzel Harper, age 79, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Harper was born on May 20, 1941 in Douglas, Georgia the son of the late Mitchell Harper and Mattie Paulk Harper.

 

Mr. Harper was a local farmer and a member of Unity Ministries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

 

Survivors include his wife, Rita S. Harper of Douglas, GA; three daughters, Debbie Davis (Sammy) of Douglas, GA, Delectia Vickers (Derek) of Ambrose, GA and DeLeice Carter (Brett) of Douglas, GA; three grandchildren, Corey Vickers, Meagan Coley and Elle Carter; three great grandchildren, Harper Vickers, Raef Coley and Mattie Grace Coley; two sisters, Bonnie Tucker of Ambrose, GA and Dorothy Bass of Ambrose, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 11:00am at Elam Harper Cemetery, Ambrose, GA with Rev. Joseph Cochran, Rev. Georgia Carroll Paulk and Rev. Michael Harper officiating. Pallbearers will be Rex Smith, Ben Paulk, Kenny Vickers, Lamar harper, Noble Coley and Ronnie Spivey. Honorary pallbearers will be David Robinson, J.W. Carver, Marvin Key, Duane Bishop, Jeff Wade, Lamar Fussell, George Purvis, Norman Fussell, Michael Harper, Brian Fussell and Troy Fussell.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Ministries or the Alzheimer’s Association.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
