Melody Lynn Worth, age 71, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020. Mrs. Worth was born on December 7, 1949 in Douglas, Georgia the daughter of the late James Lee and Alma Elizabeth Lynn Yarbrough.

 

Mrs. Worth was a retired (1993) registered nurse working for Coffee Regional Medical and was member of Mt. Zion Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond “Butch” Yarbrough.

 

Survivors include her husband, E.L. “Buddy” Worth of Douglas, GA; son, Adam Cato (Leigh) of Douglas, GA; two grandchildren, Alexis Cato of Watkinsville, GA and Logan Hartley (Taylor) of Tennille, GA; sister, Joann Newell (Gerald) of Douglas, GA; sister-in-law, Pam Yarbrough of Albany, GA; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, December 29, 2020 from 10am until time of service at 11am at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 11:00am at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leroy Spivey, Rev. Russell McQuaig, Rev. Darrell Joiner, and Rev. Toby Gale officiating.  Interment will follow at Broxton City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Taylor Hartley, Jessie Ragan, Ken Worth, Cody Maddox, Cam Worth and Logan Burkett.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
