Van Tyrone Vickers, age 61, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Coffee Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Vickers was born on August 29, 1959, in Coffee County, Georgia to Harold Henry Vickers and the late Anna Faye Wall Vickers.

Mr. Vickers was a member of Covenant Church and employed by PCC.

 

Survivors include: Wife, Tracie Lynn Crews Vickers of Douglas, Ga.; two sons, Gideon Vickers and wife Jessie and Caleb Vickers; father, Harold Henry Vickers; step-son, Brandon Spinks; step-sister, Jan Thurston and husband Richard, all of Douglas; step-brother Ray Roberts and wife, Leslie of Axson; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Stan Harold Vickers.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Covenant Church with Pastor Gregory Pope and Gideon Vickers officiating.   Interment will follow at Carver Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Tommy Ponsell, Scott Vickers, Christopher Vickers, Lon Gillis, Tyan Thurston and Bailey Roberts.

 

The Vickers family will receive friends Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 12:00 pm until the funeral hour of 2:00 pm at Covenant Church. 

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home, Inc. request all guest and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting, and highly encourage the same at services held at other facilities. Masks are not provided.
