Barbara Ellen Ertzberger Deen, 79

Barbara Ellen Ertzberger Deen, age 79, of Broxton, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Columbus Hospice. Mrs. Deen was born on June 1, 1941, in Jacksonville, GA to the late Clarence M Ertzberger and the late Nannie Rose Holland Ertzberger.

 

Survivors include: Two daughters, Jenny (Keith) Waldron of Broxton, GA, and Katrina (Danny) Grantham of Broxton, GA; son, Ottis L (Amanda) Deen, Jr., of Broxton, GA; brothers, William Ertzberger of Jacksonville, GA and Harris Ertzberger of Jacksonville, GA; sisters, Willie (Larry) Wilcox of Byron, GA, Ravelia (William) Huffstetler of Adel, GA, Hazel (Sandy) Dennis of Milledgeville, GA and  Elizaabeth Giddens of McRae, GA; grandchildren, Daniel Waldron, Chasity Swank, Clay Deen, and  Samuel Gratham; eight great- grandchildren; and several nieces and  nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis L. Deen, Sr.; father, Clarence M. Ertzberger; mother, Nannie Rose Holland Ertzberger; and brother, Howard Ertzberger.

 

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Providence Baptist Church. 

 

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11:00 am Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Kirkland, Rev. Rodney Courson, and Daniel Waldron officiating. 
Interment will follow at Reedy Branch Church Cemetery.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

 

\Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility. Masks are not provided.
