Larry Boyd Ferguson Sr, age 71, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Ferguson was born on July 10, 1949 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Leon Boyd and Ophelia Aletha Veal Ferguson.

 

Mr. Ferguson was owner of a timber business, a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was an Army Ranger with 82nd Airborne, 504th Infantry, A Company/1st Battalion 75th Ranger and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was of the Baptist faith.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Boyd Ferguson Jr.

 

Survivors include his wife, Eloisie A. Ferguson of Douglas, GA; daughter, Anna Adams (Justin) of Newnan, GA; son, J.P. Ferguson (Brandi) of Alma, GA; six grandchildren, Arandela Adams, Allie Adams, Lane Ferguson, Layla Ferguson, Keeton Lee and Kassi Lee; brother, Leon Ferguson (Vera) of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Aniece O’Steen (Bobby) of Charleston, SC, Janet Buchan of Douglas, GA, Terri Sheffield (Mike) and Sherry Morgan of Douglas, GA; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 3pm until 3:45pm at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 4:00pm at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Sheffield officiating. Pallbearers will be Lane Ferguson, Justin Adams, J.P. Ferguson, Keeton Lee, Patrick Nipper, Kyler Nipper, Waylon Buchan and David Sheffield

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
