Dennis Wayne McLeod, 67

Dennis Wayne McLeod passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at his home in La Grange, KY after a short illness. Wayne was born in Fitzgerald, GA on November 5, 1954.  He was a 1972 graduate of Norcross High School in Norcross, GA and attended the University of Louisville in KY where he studied Mechanical Engineering.

 

Wayne began his career with Scientific Atlanta where he worked for 18 years as a Design Draftsman. He worked the next 20 years as a Mechanical Engineer.  Wayne was an avid marksman for both recreational and competitive gun shooting matches and was the Black Powder and Rifle coach with the Oldham County 4H program.

 
Wayne is survived by his parents Wilma Ricketson and Jesse C. McLeod; a sister, Sandra Kay McLeod; a brother, Gary Lee McLeod and wife, Sandy; a nephew, Philip Ryan McLeod and wife, Monet; numerous cousins and many beloved friends and colleagues.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Bethany Church Cemetery.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
