Weems Melvin “Worm” Simmons, age 62, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Simmons was born on March 26, 1958 in Lincolnton, Georgia the son of the late Alex Melvin and Lillie Louise Davis Simmons.

 

Mr. Simmons worked at Walmart Distribution Center, was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Nicholls Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include brother, Jimmy Ray Simmons (Denise) of Alma, GA; two sisters, Wanell S. Nails (Johnny) of Nicholls, GA and Linda Faye Hersey (James) of Nicholls, GA; special nieces, Heidi Hines (Brian) and Danell Bagley (Winston); several other relatives.

 

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Hall Cemetery, Nicholls, GA with Rev. Kevin Tanner officiating. Pallbearers will be Winston Bagley, Brian Hines, Jimmy Ray Simmons, Johnny Nails, James Hersey and Jerry Heriling.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
