Mrs. Rowena Spell Blount, age 87 of Broxton, GA passed away Thursday evening, February 18, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Mrs. Blount was born October 23, 1933 to the late George “Son” Spell and the Aleph Burkett Spell. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady E. Blount, Jr. and a sister, Juanita Burkett.

Mrs. Blount, a native of Coffee County, had been a supervisor with Federal Corset for a number of years. She was a member of Pridgen Baptist Church.

Survivors include:

Children: Randy Gould and wife Vickie of Jacksonville, GA
Greg Yates and wife Liz of Broxton, GA
Beth Blount of Douglas, GA
Buddy Blount and wife Elizabeth of Greenville, SC

Niece: Linda Walker and husband Theron of Jacksonville, FL

Seven grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren

The graveside service and interment will be Sunday afternoon February 21, 2021 at 4:30 PM at Pridgen Cemetery with Dr. Stephen Hart officiating.

The family will receive friends, Sunday afternoon February 21, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Due to COVID-19, all attendees are asked to observe six foot social distancing at the visitation, graveside service and interment. Please wear your mask for safety precautions and in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
