Maurine Haney Mingledorff, age 97, of Alma, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at her residence. Mrs. Mingledorff was born on September 27, 1924 in Paducah, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Alvin and Zella Schroeder Burton.

 

Mrs. Mingledorff was a retired sales analyst with Allis Chalmers and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Alma, Georgia. Mrs. Mingledorff was a faithful pastor’s wife who accompanied her husband during many pastoral moves in churches in Georgia, Illinois, Texas, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Sarrar and two brothers, Elmer Burton, and Ray Burton.

 

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Rev. Walter Mingledorff of Alma, GA; one daughter, Charlotte Dickson of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughters, Krystal Dickson of Jacksonville, FL and Amanda Amond of Asheboro, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Douglas City Cemetery with Dr. Fred Huff officiating.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
