Mr. Ira L. Aldridge, Jr. age 72 of Douglas passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 30, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Aldridge was born August 25, 1948 to the late Ira L. Aldridge, Sr. and the late Marjorie Bittaker Aldridge.
Mr. Aldridge, a native of Coffee County, was employed as the chief deputy with the Coffee County Sheriff’s office. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of Saving Grace Ministries.

The funeral service will be Thursday morning, April 1, 2021, at 11:00 A. M., at Saving Grace Ministries with Rev. Cliff Kirkland officiating. The interment will follow in St. Illa Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., at Saving Grace Ministries.
Active pallbearers will be: Austin Mykytka, Justin Mykytka, Kurt Cribbs, David Knight, Tye Courson and Chad Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Sheriff Doyle Wooten, Johnny Carol Bryant, Donnie Pridgen, Jimmy Troupe, John Sweat, Lee Clements, Jan Downing, Michael Grantham and Bob Franklin.
Due to COVID-19 attendees are asked to observe six foot social distancing at the visitation, funeral service and interment. Please wear your mask for safety precautions and in accordance with CDC guidelines.
