Jenelda “Nell” Courson, age 73, of Millwood, Georgia passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Courson was born on June 10, 1947 the daughter of the late Raleigh Rufus Willis and Celia Reliford Willis.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Courson, two sons, Eddie and Franklin Courson, siblings, Shirley Holland, Bonnie Peterson and Ronnie Anthony and great granddaughter, Ramsey Kate Thomas.

 

Mrs. Courson was a homemaker and a member of Telmore Pentecostal Holiness Church.

 

Survivors include son, David W. Anthony (Kaneah) of Millwood, GA; daughter, Sherry Adams (Sid) of Douglas, GA; step-daughters, Karen Johnson of Alma, GA and Calisse Owens (Jim) of Tanner, AL; sister, Ruth Troupe (Charles) of Douglas, GA; 19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, April 14, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Womack officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brady Thomas, Michael Spikes, Michael Courson, Ronnie Cato, Patrick Hudgins and Joey Thomas.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
