Several citizens have contacted the City of Douglas expressing concerns for the renovations that will soon be taking place at Davis Wade Park. Davis Wade Park has six tennis courts that will not be demolished and will remain for public use while the Miracle Field and Swimming Pool construction is taking place. Parking for the tennis courts will be in the city parking lot on Letitia Avenue and W. Ashley Street.
“Over the past several days, citizens have contacted our office concerned about the tennis courts and the construction that will be taking place soon at Davis Wade Park,” says City Manager Charles Davis. “I want to ensure everyone that the tennis courts will remain intact at the park.”
Please excuse any inconveniences while park improvements are taking place. Once the new construction is completed, Davis Wade Park will have amenities that include six tennis courts, a Miracle Field with ADA playground and concession area, new 8-lane swimming pool, pool house with concession area and bathrooms, splash pad, one picnic shelter area, and parking.
